Some are absolutely essential to a good education in life management, so they will be given a priority rating above others. You should read the prioritized (A-B) and then the asterisked books if the area is relevant. However, all the books are excellent.

Quiet Your Mind, John Selby - An easy to use guide to ening chronic worry and negative
thoughts and living a calmer life. One of the most practical, tying together "cognitive" re-
forming of the thought process with meditative approaches. See his website for
A3 Radical Acceptance, Tara Brach. In the top 20 books of all time from a
respected psychologist. This is a key thing to learn, so we have some of the
materials built in to this website.
A2 SOUL WITHOUT SHAME, A GUIDE TO LIBERATING YOURSELF FROM THE JUDGE
WITHIN, Byron Brown. An excellent and freeing explanation of giving up the child view of
being subject to the judge and no longer having to be "motivated" by the critic.

The Power of Focusing, A Practical Guide to Emotional Self-Healing, Ann Weiser
Cornell, Ph.D. A powerful book, used intrinsically in the practice of a highly respected
counselor. It is a way of focusing on what issues are coming up for you, by first
"listening" to where your body is sensing something to resolve or explore and then
"listening" to what is said, while nurturing yourself in a rather unique way that helps
teach acceptance and self-loving, while being tremendously self-healing.
OVERALL
A4 Self Matters, Dr. Philip McGraw. Together with the workbook, one of the most
practical approaches to self understanding and management.
A1 Change Your Mind & Your Life Will Follow, Karen Casey - An excellent "grounding"
book for life and eliminating, with an absolute cut-off, the behaviors and thinking that
gets in the way of attaining peace and happiness.
Bad Childhood, Good Life, Dr Laura Schlessinger - Definitely overcomes any idea of
victimness!
PERSONALITY TYPES
A1 The Wisdom of the Enneagram, Don Riso and Russ Hudson. Great way to
determine your precise personality type and how to deal with your strengths
and weaknesses, what drives you and what you need to be more aware of.

The Intention Experiment: Using Your Thoughts to Change Your Life and the World,
Lynne McTaggart - Recommended by a high intentioned person who was bound and
determined to gain control over her thoughts so that she would no longer be a victim of
negative thought processes. Highly rated by quite a few people (see Amazon reader
reviews), she says this is the only thing that works for her! It has a few of the "higher"
level "intention manifests itself" in physical ways, which a number of people won't buy, but
which has a truth if explained in another way (and it can't do any harm).
