Judging yourself results in a sentence of imprisonment for life. So sad, so unnecessary, and so unrealistic.
The BuddhaKahuna
WHAT IS FREEDOM?
Freedom: the absence of hindrance, restraint, confinement or repression (of self or by others)
Free:
Not under the control of some other person or some arbitrary power
Not subject to needing others' approval, being independently powerful.
Able to act or think without compulsion or arbitrary restriction; able to move in any diretion; not held [or held back], not restricted by anything except its own limitations or nature; not constrained or stilted
Having removed one's own limiting beliefs and artificial fears
Easy and graceful,
With no tensions, not having to "watch out" for and protect agains, moving without effort as there is nothing opposing
Frank; straightforward
Able to be authentic, not having to please, totally self-sufficient
Clear of obstructions; open, unimpeded
Handling obstructions quickly and completely, leaving effortlessly

THIS IS HOW YOU SHOULD, AND CAN, LIVE
If you complete the processing of your rules and beliefs in life, you will be able to live with complete freedom, clearing up the space such that you can do what gives you the most joy and satisfaction in life, freely managing your life to create an abundance of feeling good, in an enduring, substantial way.
NO LONGER BELIEVING THAT THOUGHTS ARE REAL
If you understood Beliefs/Thoughts Are Just Recordings, then you accepted the idea that firing off old recordings is just a repeat of the past, with a specified emotion and action to take. If you don't want to live the past over and over and over, you would then choose to use the higher brain to create something new.
Note that it took this decision to make Scrooge decide not to use his old recordings, as he could see what the results would be, due to the gifts from the ghosts of the past, present, and future - to help him see where he was going.
You might do the same by asking, if I leave my programs as they are to run my life, what does my future look like? ___________________________________

_____________________________________________________________
Am I willing to accept that? ___ Yes; ___ No: ___ Maybe
Am I willing, instead, to choose to not accept that?
Am I willing to do something about it? ___ Yes; ___ No; ___ Maybe
And, most importantly "What do I do about it that will produce what I want?"
Without the last question being answered, you are simply going to stay in the same place - and you won't achieve the happiness of the new Scrooge with his altered recordings.
HOW DO I CHANGE THE RECORDINGS AND RESTRICTIONS?
The Law Of Displacement: An object cannot occupy the same space as another object. One cannot have two thoughts at the exact same time (which is why a person can use a repeated saying over and over to replace an old thought that repeats - and thus diminish or eliminate the old thought).
The Law Of Space: You must take something out of a place to create the space for something else to be put in it.
When we repeat the same stories, we fill up the space (and re-affirm the stories). I am not trying to make it wrong to tell stories, but to make it clear what the effect is of telling stories.
When we repeat any old belief, we again fill up the space (and re-affirm it). When we strongly act to eliminate it, we create an open space into which to create.
REMOVING THE STORY; GIVING IT UP, FOREVER!
Sometimes it is true that we must tell the story to see all of its parts (a process known as duplicating) and to make choices with regard to the parts. If we tell the story for that purpose, then we will be attempting to sort through what works and what doesn't and to replace what doesn't work with something that works. Only when we actually duplicate something as it is, in sufficient detail, can we distinguish what each of the parts are there - and then we have the choice as to what to do with those parts if we simply ask the question: Does this serve me to get what I really, really want in life? If not, then we replace it.
NO RESIDUALS ALLOWED
We can't hold on to a little bit of the story or hold it for possible use, it must be at zero..
When we hold on to stories, we use them in a disabling way.
"That explains why I am as I am" (with a reasonable implication that it is an ongoing condition contrary to what the wise men say). "This is a reason I am the victim. (Though I would recommend never using that term. Perhaps, it is about giving away our power, being a child, being "little".) Sometimes , it results in believing this "I must be rescued, helped, someone else has to do it for me." Or "I must be approved of to be ok."
NO RESISTANCE, ONLY "LOOKING"
The saying in self development seminars that applies to this (though not so clearly if you don't know more detail behind it) is:
"What you resist, persists. What you duplicate, disappears."
Resistance implies a struggle against, but if one simply makes a decision and removes the other side then there is nothing to resist. Only by holding on to that other thing (keeping it in existence) can you keep it in existence in order to have it there to resist. Thus, by keeping it in existence to struggle with, it persists [keeps on].
Duplicating allows one to have at least the potential for disappearing something. Accurately determining what is actually happening and then what is next to do is the essence of problem solving - a key skill to improve your life with, as discussed on this site.) Seeing something clearly, including the costs, by removing the "smoke" obscuring what is going on helps us shine the light on what is not good and what is not true; without that, there is no way to move forward.
Only by looking in sufficient detail and seeing what is actual can we then have the ability to make a choice about whether or not something serves us.
And if it doesn't serve us, then we can freely remove it from the space in which we are holding it in our minds. We can remove it from our mind, no longer holding it as something to keep and use in the future.
THEN WE MUST "COMPLETE"
Metaphorically: Any "grass fires" would have to be stomped out completely, including the embers that might reignite your forest fire of destructive emotions. The fire is from the beliefs, so one has to take life by the reins and handle all things that do not fit with a powerful life.
AN OPEN SPACE IS THE ESSENCE OF FREEDOM
If we so choose to do so, we create a space (an opening) in which we can invent something new to put into that empty space. And, voila!, the way one deals with life has changed! (Duh!) (Build it and they will come, keep it the old way and things will be the same as they were....)
