You can "sentence" yourself to anxiety and its symptom of agitation and discomfort.  Or you can free yourself from the prison by correcting the sentences or using minimization statements. 


THE LITTLE SENTENCES OF ANXIETY THAT WE FEED OURSELVES ALOT


Geez, I'm not sure if I'm going to get there on time.  (If I'm not there on time, nothing will happen, not in reality.  'Late' happens and that's ok.  This is a zero.)

I am unsure of what should be done in this case.  (Well, it is a fairly small thing, so some error is no big deal.  But I can just try to get all the help I can and just let it be or I might be able to figure it out pretty well.  This is a big zero.)

I might be "taken" by this vendor.  (Yes, but I'll try to be as alert as possible.  And if it happens at all, it will be a super-minor thing, dissolving away even more over time.)
I might be spending too much.  (Yes, and that is normal for fallible human beings.  I'll do the best I can, but I realize this is no big deal.  I'll always be doing some things not perfectly and that is fine.  I'll do fine.)
I might not be being efficient as I should be.  (No kidding!  Of course, you'll not be, as you're fallible and not all knowing.  And, of course, this is ok, just part of life.  A big so what.  This is a big zero in the big picture!)


These are pretty small stuff, so one might wonder if it should just be ignored, just be tolerated.  

Ordinarily that would make sense, but in this case if aggravates or inserts a feeling of a lack of safety, a vague feeling of danger, which signals the amygdala to watch out more and even be a bit hyperreactive.  This would cause more anxiety and the ill effects of anxiety besides feeling agitated. 


THE GENERAL ANSWERS/CORRECTIONS

It's a zero or close to nothing.  No sweat.
I'm sure the sun will come up tomorrow, so all's fine. 
I'll just breathe and feel good.  All's fine. 




Of course, to be better able to do the above, you should "ground" and educate yourself about anxiety and false fears.  This anxiety type of self talk is unnecessary and it is harmful.
