TREADMILLING, GOING NOWHERE, FAST OR SLOW

Are you treadmilling alot of your life away?  Doing the same old things and not setting aside the time to create what you want?  So busy maintaining and relieving anxiety that you end up not having time for what is really important?

Well, there are only two known cures for that, as discussed below.

THE INDICATORS

You are treadmilling if you are too busy, spend alot of time maintaining (see www.live8020.com for perspective on this), watch more than an hour of tv, are overweight and/or unhealthy, feel depressed and don't shake it, do any addiction, don't feel peaceful, or just aren't accomplishing what you want.

The classic dilemma is when we are trapped into doing something that is not the top priority, simply because we set it up and now we've got to manage it or work hard at it.  See the "dumping sand" syndrome below.  If you don't dump the sand (i.e. do the recommended strategies instead) in the first place , then you won't have to deal with it.

If there is anything you do that has you feeling you are ending up in the same place, getting nowhere you really want to go, you're treadmilling!

We've got to change away from any treadmilling!!!!

THE JOKES, WITH A BIG MEANING

The typical "jokes", which are quite poignant if you think about them, include this one:

"Honey, I think we're going the opposite direction to the way we should go."
"Yea, I know, but we're really making good time!"
_________

The drunk search around under the streetlight, when asked by a policeman if he could help:
"No, I'm doing pretty good."
"What are you looking for."
"My car keys."
"Do you recall all the places you might have lost them, so we can check those out."
"I know where I dropped them, it was over there about 30 feet."
"Well, why aren't you looking over there."
"Because the light is so much better over here."
___________

My father, when in "The Jesters", a fun loving group of Shriners who often rode those miniature motorcycles in parades, told of one of his adventures:

About 11:30 two dump trucks pulled up at the opposite ends of a street in L.A., putting up traffic barriers and then proceeding to dump their sand onto the street.  The Jesters had a crew out there who set up tables in the middle of the block and then served lunch out there until finished with their good time.  Then the tables were whisked away and the barriers were removed as the workers finished loading the sand back into their trucks, after which they drove away.

ARE YOU DOING THESE?

Are you dumping your sand onto the street and then just re-loading it?
Are you making good time going the wrong way?
Are you looking where you're more likely to find what you want?

Have you not thought out where you are going, so you're just filling up your time being busy?  Are you not learning what it takes to live life in a way that is alot more rewarding than "treadmilling" and getting nowhere?

THERE ARE A FEW GOOD WAYS OF GETTING OUT OF THIS

Mindless busyness is only stopped by using your mind (your higher brain, that is, not the two real dumb ones you're using alot).

The answers are:  1.  Planning and  2.  Removing Ignorance.

Planning is not too hard, though it does take a little time, but that time saves hours and hours of wasted time.  Few do it to the degree it might best be done, because it is so much "easier" not to plan or think - easier, but not rewarding.

Do a LifePlan, asap, to create the Life You Love.

Removing ignorance takes a bit more time, but has a huge payoff.  Most people assume ignorance will just disappear as one goes through life - but that approach is proven not to work - just look around at how many people are "treadmilling."

See "Learning" to set up what and how you can do the "removing of ignorance" so that you have the skills and knowledge to make your life work - with plenty of time left over.

You'll save much time, more than enough to cover the time you'll spend learning and creating that better life that you deserve on this one-time chance.
