THE LAW OF DECISION
LIVING LIFE EFFORTLESSLY AND EFFECTIVELY
DE-CISION
De-cision, a comment: "Cision" = Cut, De = Off. A cutting off.
In a de-cision, we cut off retreat and exits (that are not based on practicality).
SAVES LOTS OF ENERGY AND FRUSTRATION
When we make a decison for our life and how we are going to run it, we automatically free up lots of energy, plus we end up regarding ourselves more. Having to decide each time something comes up uses up energy plus it brings up our false perceptions about how weak we are if we "make the wrong decision" and how we must make ourselves wrong for having done that. And this eats away at self-confidence, which causes the mind to use up lots of psychological energy trying to resolve the illusionary threat. And so on, down the descending spiral into Hell. (Although this one thing doesn't create hell, it is part of the syndrome that does create a living Hell - that syndrome must be understood for its ineffectiveness and for its damage - and then corrected, if one is to live a happy life. Read The No-Fault, No Blame, No Criticism Viewpoint - Essential For Happiness.)
People often judge themselves as having a character fault when their willpower seems to fail them. What they don't realize is that there is a whole process that is built into human nature relative to this - and you can't violate those "laws" of how things work.
THE ROAD TO GREATER EFFECTIVENESS, CONFIDENCE, AND HAPPINESS
Basically, the solution, not to perfection but toward greater effecttiveness, is to use the habit process, which will result in doing things automatically and effortlessly - as effortlessly as many of the really stupid-seeming things we do as humans, such as make a decision in the moment to eat something that will do us damage. As humans, we will continue doing "stupid" things if we leave in place the same "stupid" habits! It's the law!
Note that habits, and decisions, result in living life with alot less effort and alot more effectiveness.
I know. I know. You are thinking "well, this hasn't worked for me, as I fail so much in this area. I doubt if this will work."
Believe you me. I have studied this over and over into greater and greater depth, for myself as well as others, as I wanted to be less frustrated with doing the wrong or less workable things in my life. And I wanted to stop the conversation in my head about not being able to rely on myself.
It is an absolute fact that making decisions and building habits on purpose is what builds the road to heaven. Not doing it leads to Hell, for most people.
A LIFE DECISION BECOMES A LIFE RULE
When we make a decision for living life, this decision becomes a rule (and a guideline) on what to do in life. There is clarity. There is a clearly marked road sign that says which way to go.
It is highly, highly useful to write out your decisions (and/or tentative decisions to decide on when you have more time). Those would be kept, for easy reference, in something like the Reminders Notebook.
